This matte black, small teardrop-shaped seeds with rough surface are gathered as they ripen then dried. They do not have a strong aroma; when rubbed it smells like mild oregano. The taste is nutty, earthy, peppery, bitter, dry and quite penetrating with crunchy texture. Also known as black caraway seed, it is often misnamed and sold as black onion seed. Net weight: 1.1 lb.
