In an exceptional work, designed as a biographical documentary animated by numerous archive photographs and personal documents, Michel Bras looks back on his journey. Literary texts, testimonies, remarks and reflections retrace this singular trajectory.
As an assertive autodidact, throughout his life Michel Bras, an emblematic figure of cuisine, transformed constraints into freedom. When retracing his journey, made up of lost paths, in front of the accumulation of photos, archives and memories, he chose seven verbs as reference points: listen, learn, love, dream, cook, doubt, share.
“I am self-taught. This book is a book of hope. With Gi, we started from nothing. We have built ourselves every day, open to the world, to culture, to the economy, to others... Our life is made up of many failures. » These were the first words of Michel Bras at the start of our talks in Lagardelle. Lou Mazuc's ascent to Le Suquet, seven kilometers away, as brilliant as it was, was punctuated by trials. Nothing suggested such a destiny and it was along “lost paths along treacherous paths” that the path was traced. -Corinne Pradier
