Upethi™ Balinese Sea Salt
Only the finest quality sea salt strictly adhered to centuries-old Balinese salt farming tradition qualifies as Upethi™ Balinese Sea Salt. No shortcuts! In the ancient Balinese Kingdom, this special salt is a tribute to the kings. Unlike the typical solar evaporation method of salt-making, this Balinese tradition is unique and very labor-intensive. Sea water is drip-filtered in brined sand and stored overnight before final evaporation in carved coconut wood vessels. The result is pure, smaller crystals with medium salty savory notes and no impurities. Net weight: 2.5 oz.
Upethi™ Espresso Balinese Sea Salt
Inspired by Ethiopian coffee ceremonies, where salt and a dollop of butter are added to the coffee, we created Upethi™ Espresso Balinese Sea Salt for steak purists and coffee addicts in mind. We source Grade 1 Ethiopian coffee beans and roast them in-house. The aim is to highlight the fruitiness and floral nature of the beans. Then, the roasted beans are rested for two weeks before they are ground and properly extracted into espresso shots. We infuse our Upethi™ Balinese Sea Salt with the concentrated espresso shots multiple times to get the right balance of saltiness and caffeine. Season your dry-aged steak generously and let this espresso salt do its magic. The acid in the coffee helps cut through the richness of the dry-aged fat while giving the steak a hint of mocha latte. While most hibiscus salts are made quickly from low-quality salt dry-blended with hibiscus powder, causing separation of flavors, our Upethi™ Hibiscus Balinese Sea Salt is carefully crafted from two types of hibiscus flowers and Upethi™ Balinese Sea Salt. Sarawak Black Pepper
Sarawak Black Peppercorns Whole, Brown Label grade (the highest grade for Sarawak black pepper). Harvested by hand only when the berries are mature green, our Sarawak Black Pepper is then threshed to separate the stalks, sun-dried on mats on top of a raised platform for 4-5 days, and further meticulously cleaned and sorted. Only the denser, cleaner, and drier berries are selected for our Brown Label Sarawak Black Pepper, its richly pungent flavor matched by a lustrous brownish black color and classic wrinkled texture. Sarawak White Pepper
Sarawak White Peppercorns Whole, Cream Label grade (the highest grade for Sarawak white pepper). Our Sarawak White Pepper is allowed to ripen fully on the vine before being hand harvested and carefully selected. Clear running mountain spring water is piped into tanks where the fruits are soaked under controlled conditions to remove their hulls. The constant monitoring of water circulation produces a uniformly high-quality, creamy white peppercorn with a mellow and mildly piquant flavor. Net weight: 2 oz.
Pleasantly hot and more pungent than regular black pepper, our aromatic Javanese Long Pepper is native to Indonesia. Grown year round, the best long pepper comes from the island of Madura, where the dryness and balanced ph of the soil, along with perfect weather conditions, conspire to produce the largest fruits and leaves. As soon as they mature, our long pepper is harvested and immediately sun-dried to capture its unique flavor. Net weight: 1.8 oz.
